PEG Care
Students will learn about the purpose and techniques of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy feeding in this training session.
Any staff members who frequently interact with service users who use a PEG or any other type of enteral feeding tube (NG, JEJ, PEJ, etc.) must complete this PEG feeding course. The goal of the PEG Feeding training course is to improve your staff’s practical enteral feeding abilities and knowledge, which will benefit your patients.
The training provided by Immediate Quality Care guarantees that carers are knowledgeable about safe feeding procedures, good hygiene, and how to avoid difficulties. Important elements of the instruction consist of:
- Hygiene and Infection Control: Keeping the area around the stoma sanitary and cleaning it every day.
- Feeding Procedures: Proper feed preparation, administration, and supervision to prevent aspiration or obstructions.
- Tube Maintenance: To avoid obstructions, flush the tube both before and after feeding.
Detecting and reacting to indications of infection, dislodgement, or tube obstruction is known as “complication management.”
Recording feeding regimens, patient reactions, and any problems for medical examination is known as documentation and reporting.
